Heading to Romania & Moldova...
Just wanted to touch base with you this week while I have Internet access and let you know how thankful I am for you. I haven’t had much access over the past month, so I missed my opportunity at last week to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving, but at least it’s not just one day of the year that I’m thankful. I know I’ve said this before, but when I stop and think about the reality that so many of you give of you time to pray faithfully for me and you give of your money so I can be here doing what I’m doing, I am truly overwhelmed and humbled. I stand with the Apostle Paul in saying, “Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. I always pray for you, and I make my requests with a heart full of joy because you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ...” (Phil. 1:3-5a). Thank you so much!
Thank you all so much for your prayers for me this year as I’ve stumbled (and continue to stumble) through the process of learning German. Although I still have a long way to go with the language, I’m so thankful for the foundation I have as I transition out of the formal language learning stage and into more focused ministry...
My life since September has actually felt like one big whirlwind. I've literally been going non-stop with trips, music events, visitors (my mom even came to visit!! ) and Bible school. I'm grateful for all these opportunities but I can also honestly say that I'm looking forward to taking a bit of a break at the end of December. Before that, however, I have one more big trip coming up that I'd like to ask you to pray for. This Sunday (Dec. 6), a group 14 people, consisting of 5 different nationalities, will be taking 4 vans loaded with hundreds of Christmas boxes to children in Romania & Moldova. We'll be spending a week in each country distributing Christmas gifts, holding children's programs, participating in the church services, and simply spending time with the children there, many of whom are orphans. We even have an optician who is going along to perform eye exams and give away glasses that have been collected and/or donated over the past year. I'm thrilled about the opportunity to be a part of this ministry this holiday season.
Will you join us by praying for us as we go? We'll be gone from December 6-19.
Please pray...
* for health and safety as we travel, and a smooth border crossing into Moldova.
* for unity in our very diverse team.
* for the children's programs, music, preaching and all the translation that will be taking place throughout the trip.
* that the people with whom we come in contact, and especially the children, would understand how valuable they are and much they are loved--not just by us, but most importantly by a caring and loving Father who sees their needs and has gone to great lengths to provide for them, especially in the giving of His Son.
Thank you all, again, for your standing with me in prayer and caring about God is doing over here in this corner of the world. I wish you all a wonderful Christmas season and pray that in the midst of all the hectic stress you are able to find PEACE, STILLNESS, and REST in HIM and His wonderful promises to you!
